Additional Information

A selection on books on a wooden bureau in the Count House

Check In and Check Out

The cottage will be available to you from 3pm on the day of arrival, and check out is by 10am on the day of departure.

Children

As the cottage is situated on the river bank, we do not recommend it for small children though babes in arms are very welcome.

Location

We are in a rural position, and a 10 minute drive from the nearest village. Please be aware that the final few miles of your journey will be through Devonshire lanes which are single-track with passing places. Generally we do not recommend it for particularly low-slung vehicles, but if you would like further details, please do get in touch.

Access

Due to the nature of the cottage, it is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users but may be suitable for those with limited mobility. The cottage has just one small step up to the living area. It is worth noting that while there is a shower attachment in the bath, there is not a separate shower. If you are in any doubt as to whether the cottage will suit your needs, please do get in touch.

Dogs

You are very welcome to bring 1 or 2 well behaved dogs to stay with you at the cottage. We ask that dogs are kept off of the soft furnishings and out of the bedroom, that you pick up after them outside and that they are not left unsupervised in the cottage or garden at any time. An additional charge of £30 per dog per week's stay applies.

Safety

The cottage is found on the river bank and there are unfenced steep drops down to the water. The steps leading down to the jetty are also steep and will be slippery during and after wet weather. Equally the jetty itself will be slippery during and after wet weather and high tide. Please take care and be aware of this, particularly if you will be visiting with children or pets.

Wifi

The cottage has wifi coverage throughout which is generally good, however please be aware that due to the location we do not have a high speed connection and there may occasionally be periods of time when the connection is slower.

Parking

It is usually possible to park your car just a few steps from the cottage on the grassy driveway. However, occasionally in periods of wet weather (particularly in winter) we may ask that you park on the hard standing just a short walk from the cottage.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in the cottage. If you smoke outside, please dispose of the ends with care.
